in the wake of yesterday's bombings,
hundreds of people of a variety of ethnic backgrounds
attended a vigil in solidarity with
Islamic Americans.

"I am here to express solidarity with the Arab people
from the Puerto Rican people,
and express sympathy for the losses our whole country is feeling."

"As a Palestinian American, I mourn twice.
I try to focus on mourning for those who were lost
in the bombing yesterday,
but I also worry for my safety today."

Oakland resident Gloria Yamato.
"I came because I needed to be with other people,
in solidarity with those who died,
and to pray that no more will die. I fear for our response."
