Domestic Partner Commitment Ceremony
San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, along with members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors,
hosted the sixth annual same-sex domestic partners commitment ceremony
today under the City Hall rotunda.
Mayor Brown performed the first official same gender commitment ceremony in 1996,
when San Francisco became one of the first cities to allow same-sex couples
to have an official ceremony through the County Clerks Office.
Since then, 467 couples have participated in this annual event.
