Post-Bombing Anti-Arab Backlash.
Owners and workers in Arab-American restaurants
have received hate calls and threats
following the bombing of the Pentagon and World Trade Center.
The restaurant workers have put up "Hate Free Zone" signs,
and the community has rallied to support them.

"They called me murderer and worse.
I tell them I'm a Jordanian-American, I had nothing to do with this bombing.
I don't bomb people, I have my family and make a living here."


Iranian-American cafe owner Nick Heydarian, owner of City Blend Cafe,
requests that his face not show in a photograph after he received hate calls and threats.
" I came to this country with lots of hope, not with bombs," says Heydarian.
