Acupuncture Treatments Alone Found 
Not Helpful for Cocaine Addiction. 

A study in the January 3, 2002, New England Journal of Medicine 
found that acupuncture used alone is not helpful 
in treating cocaine addiction. 
The author of the study, Dr. Arthur Margolin, 
Yale University School of Medicine, said 
"...the recommendation would be that acupuncture not be used 
by itself as a treatment for addiction, or in a setting where there 
is only minimal counseling or therapy."
